Billing

How Vaendora charges fees, how subscription payments work, and what to do if a payment cannot be collected.

Two Types of Fees

There are two separate fees on Vaendora. Understanding the difference helps you know what to expect each month:

Transaction Fee

A percentage deducted from each customer payment you receive through Vaendora. 1.5% (+VAT) per transaction, capped at ₦1,800. Charged on every successful payment your customers make.

Subscription Fee

A recurring monthly or annual fee for your Core or Growth plan. Paid via bank transfer to a dedicated account number generated at the time of upgrade or renewal. Gateway merchants pay no subscription fee.

Transaction Fee Structure

Vaendora charges a simple, transparent fee on each successful payment your customers make:

FeeRateCapWhen Applied

Fee Cap Advantage
The ₦1,800 cap means larger transactions cost significantly less as a percentage. A ₦500,000 transaction has an effective fee rate of just 0.3%.

Subscription Fee Payment

The Core plan is free with no subscription fee. If you are on the Growth plan, your subscription fee is paid via bank transfer each billing cycle. When you upgrade — or when a renewal is due — Vaendora generates a unique virtual account number. You transfer the exact amount to that account and your plan is activated or renewed automatically once payment is confirmed. No card is required.

Monthly

Core: Free. Growth: ₦18,000/month. Growth is charged on the same date each month.

Annual

Core: Free. Growth: ₦180,000/year. Pay once and your plan is valid for 12 months.

Bank Transfer

Transfer the exact amount to the virtual account shown at checkout. Your plan activates automatically once confirmed.

Gateway Plan
If you are on the Gateway plan, there is no subscription fee. You only pay the 1.5% (+VAT) transaction fee, capped at ₦1,800, on payments you receive.

Upgrading Your Plan

You can upgrade at any time from Settings → Billing. Here is what happens when you click Upgrade Now:

  1. Choose your billing period, monthly or annual, on the Billing page
  2. Click Upgrade Now on the plan you want
  3. You are shown a virtual account number with the exact amount to transfer
  4. Make the transfer from your bank app — the account number expires after a set window
  5. Once the transfer is confirmed, your plan upgrades automatically and Growth features are available on your next page load
Annual Billing Saves 2 Months
Paying annually works out cheaper than monthly. On Growth, annual billing saves ₦36,000 compared to paying month by month.

When a Subscription Payment Fails

If Vaendora cannot confirm a subscription payment — for example because the transfer was not made before the virtual account expired, or a renewal charge could not be collected — here is what happens:

Step 1 — Payment marked as failed

Your account is placed on a short grace period. You keep full access to all your plan features while retries are in progress. A warning appears on your Billing page and you receive an email notification.

Step 2 — Automatic retries

Vaendora automatically retries collection several times over the following hours. You will receive an email notification for each failed attempt. Your plan access remains intact throughout this period.

Step 3 — Downgrade if all retries fail

If all retry attempts are exhausted and payment still cannot be confirmed, your subscription ends and your account is downgraded to the Gateway plan. You will receive a final email confirming this. Access to Core or Growth features is suspended until you resubscribe.

What to do if payment fails
Check your Billing page for the warning banner. Ensure your bank account has sufficient funds. Vaendora will retry automatically — you do not need to trigger a retry manually. Contact support if you need assistance.

The Billing Page Warning

When a payment attempt fails, a warning appears at the top of your Settings → Billing page. The warning disappears automatically once payment is successfully confirmed. If your account is downgraded to Gateway, the warning is replaced by the standard plan selection screen.

Cancelling Your Subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Billing page. Cancellation takes effect immediately — there is no end-of-period access.

  1. Go to Settings → Billing
  2. Under your current plan, click Cancel subscription
  3. Confirm in the dialog that appears
  4. Your account moves to the Gateway plan immediately

What you lose on cancellation

Access to all Core and Growth features stops immediately. Your products, orders, and customer data are preserved. You can resubscribe at any time from the Billing page to restore access.

Resubscribing
If you cancel and later want to come back, simply go to Settings → Billing and click Upgrade Now on the plan you want. All your existing data will still be there.
