Organizing Categories

Keep your categories organized for the best customer experience:

Best Practices

  • Keep it simple - Don't create too many categories. 5-10 main categories is usually ideal.
  • Use clear names - Category names should be obvious and match what customers search for.
  • Avoid empty categories - Each category should have at least a few products.
  • Balance depth - Subcategories are helpful but don't go more than 2-3 levels deep.

Editing Categories

Make changes to existing categories:

  • Update name or description - Click to edit and save
  • Change parent - Reassign to a different parent category
  • Update image - Upload a new image to replace the existing one

Deleting Categories

When you delete a category:

  • Products in the category are not deleted
  • Products become uncategorized or move to a parent category
  • Subcategories can be moved or deleted separately
Before Deleting
Make sure to reassign products to other categories before deleting if you want them to remain organized.

Bulk Operations

Manage multiple categories at once:

  • Select multiple - Use checkboxes to select categories
  • Bulk delete - Remove multiple categories at once
  • Bulk move - Change parent for multiple categories
