Best Practices
- Keep it simple - Don't create too many categories. 5-10 main categories is usually ideal.
- Use clear names - Category names should be obvious and match what customers search for.
- Avoid empty categories - Each category should have at least a few products.
- Balance depth - Subcategories are helpful but don't go more than 2-3 levels deep.
Editing Categories
Make changes to existing categories:
- Update name or description - Click to edit and save
- Change parent - Reassign to a different parent category
- Update image - Upload a new image to replace the existing one
Deleting Categories
When you delete a category:
- Products in the category are not deleted
- Products become uncategorized or move to a parent category
- Subcategories can be moved or deleted separately
